Happy New Year – The big screen

Happy New Year Everyone!
Thanks for all the support of the last year. We will try our best to get the Nerdsynth ready for betatesting in 2016.
For now, a photo of the Nerdsynth screen on a big TV.
The big screen
Video output is basically working. Next to cloning the Nerdsynth screen, there will be video sequencing too to create ‘tracked’ visuals.

Nerdsynth prototype demo late 2015

Finally…a new demo. Not all features in there. But you can see some new stuff for sure.Enjoy!

New Nerdsynth Prototype and ADE Soundlab

Autumn has arrived and we have finally finished our new prototype.  It’s the first prototype where we can plug in different Sound Cartridges. We made 7 of them: ATMegatron, Meeblip, DSP-G1, Soundgin, SID, CV/Gate, and a DIY one. We designed a proper circuit board for this prototype and had it assembled at a production facility to get a feel for the challenges that lay ahead for the final design of the Nerdsynth. Also, we used a 3D printer to try out different designs for the enclosure of the Nerdsynth.

Here you can see 4 Cartridge Prototypes:

We went to the ADE Soundlab to show the prototype to an audience. The days were pretty busy and we talked to many people, with many backgrounds, but they all agree: The Nerdsynth is awesome!

Next we will prepare a new video which shows all features so far. Stay tuned!

It’s not a lazy summer at all

Just when you think nothing is happening anymore cause of summer lazyness…the opposite is the case. We are more than busy to get the next prototype ready for the Amsterdam Dance Event Soundlab in october.
Prototype manufacturing for the new mainboard is very close and we already received the PCB’s of 5 different Nerdsynth Sound Adapter (NSA) prototypes.

In the next days we will present the first few NSA-cartridge designs to you.

Nerdsynth mentioned in Synmag magazine!

Nerdsynth was mentioned in the latest edition of the famous German synthesizer print magazine Synmag. As we were ‘unofficially’ present at the Musikmesse in Frankfurt this year, we talked to Synmag and they dedicated some lines to the Nerdsynth in their article about the Musikmesse 2015. Read more

Nerdsynth @ Amsterdam Dance Event

One step further to the real deal. The Nerdsynth will be part of the Amsterdam Dance Event in october and can show it to the big audience. As part of the ADE Sound Lab we will receive funding to get the new and hopefully final Nerdsynth prototype ready.

Autumn update

Dear followers,

After playing some live concerts and showcases it’s time to give some information about the development progress again. We are very busy getting the new prototype ready which will contain all features we decided on for version 1.0. Hopefully there will be enough time to draw the PCB and get it to the manufacturer before the end of the year. Then we can solder and build a new prototype in early 2015. Jan and Thomas will do their best to achieve this. Our new team member Bram will redesign the Nerdsynth website in the meantime so it doesn’t look so boring.

Nerdsynth livesets and showcases

Nerdsynth is going on the road again! After a performance in Rotterdam and one in  Hamburg the Nerdsynth will travel to Copenhagen. Thomas AKA Frau Holle AKA FirestARTer will perform with a prototype of the Nerdsynth on September 6th at Mikrodisko CPH #3! He also will do a showcase so don’t miss it.

Nerdsynth demo

Hey there,

Check out the demo on Soundcloud (and while you’re at it, follow us there too!)

The demo was made using only the N3rdsyn7h.

More soon! :)

First video

We made a first video to show what we are talking about. Audio Quality is bad, but it gives you a rough overview about what to expect. HQ audio is coming soon. As sound device we use the code from the ATMegatron from Soulsby Synthesizers.
